I was recently lucky enough to buy a server from a corporate IT company in Costa Mesa, California. It's a Dell PowerEdge 6850. This shit is a monster.
Intel Xeon Quadcore @ 3.17Ghz (x4)
Seagate Cheetah 15kRPM SCSI 146GB (x5 all in raid 0, which means ultra-freakin-fast)
32GB DDR2 ram all running in raid
Dual Gigabit ethernet
(built in video card for now)
weighs about 150 lbs.
costed me $650

I'll be back with more updates, just hang tight. I can't turn the computer on until i buy a power converter cause the minimum power input is like 200V...and there are two power supplies.

About our new Knights of Cygnus files

Once you have replaced both the Effect.wz and Skill.wz with the Cygnus ones and have entered the game, you should notice that there's not much of a difference.
You do not get Cygnus jobs.
These files only create the effect of the Cygnus skills. If you used, say Dragon Roar for example, you would see the Cygnus rendition of it, not the regular purple circle, but the skill has the same damage and effect to the monsters as it did without the Cygnus. Only a few skills are replaced with Cygnus ones.
Thief: Haste, Lucky Seven, Shadow Partner, Triple Throw
Bowman: Strafe, Arrow Rain, Soul Arrow
Warrior: Slash Blast, Dragon Roar
Mage: Element Composition, Fire Arrow, Elquines.
Pirate: TBA

Scheduled Server Check

There will be a server check scheduled for Wednesday, July 8 from 11:00PM - 12:00AM PST. This check will allow me to create a backup file of the server in case of any incidents.

Before the recent incidents, EveMS had an average of 50+ players online at 12 active GMs, but since nothing is perfect, there were a lot of difficulties where the server would be off for quite a while.
I'm pretty sure that you've seen the many complaints that the server is off or something like that. I do try to put up the server because i take complaints personally as they make me seem like a bad admin and that's the last thing i want to be. When the server is finally up, there is an average of 3 people online.
What I'm trying to say is I want you to spread the word about EveMS. I want to put my efforts to something worth while.
I've been thinking lately about putting up a donation box as well. I'm willing to dish out about $400 for an external server that will have faster performance than my computer, which the server is currently residing in.

My Goal: Install a new operating system into a separate partition and browsing the files from my master hard drive to recover the server files.
*I'm taking pictures from my MacBook camera. I don't know why Photobooth takes mirrored pictures, but the pictures are mirrored...

Well, at least i recovered my programs so I don't have to download everything again. Good thing I kept a backup script of the server (phew). I FOUND LE BACKUP FILES! Though you will notice that there may have been a huge rollback lol. I'll proceed with remaking the server. Here are some pictures of my adventure:

I am officially done with the server recovery. It works just fine, except there's a rollback. I can't do anything about that...or can I? 3x EXP for the day just cause. I think that's a good catch up opportunity.

I choose Gundams. Here's my arguement:
In the Gundam 00 series, the Gundams have GN Drives emit particles that render all other electionics and communications useless. That way, all of the Transformers AND all of the Gundams from the previous seasons will completely malfunction and immobilize. The Gundams from 00 just simply target the Transformers.

No problem.
What you'll need:
MapleStory v.62 installer
EveMS.exe file
(both in the Download section)
If you already have MapleStory and it's not v.62 or you're not sure, I reccommend you uninstall it. Doing so will eliminate problems in the future.
- Download and install MapleStory v.62. Once that's done, don't do anything further to it.
- Download EveMS.exe and put that file (it should look like a mushroom) into your MapleStory v.62 folder. To find that, go to My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Nexon > MapleStory.
- Double click on EveMS.exe to start playing!
-If EveMS does not start and the Global MapleStory splash screen appears and starts patching your game, use ALT+F4 on the splash screen. You will not be able to close the patcher regularly except with Windows Task Manager
-You can delete the files in the MapleStory folder named "MapleStory.exe", "SetUp.exe", and "Installer.exe" to prevent the problem above from happening.
-You can right click EveMS.exe and make a shortcut for it to bring to your desktop.
-If you get a WZMSS error, you can download the C++ patch to fix it (provided in the Download section)

well, i tried and i ended up rolling back the server because i messed with the query browser. i'm able to do it if we have a Hamachi server, but since this is a server run on my own network, it's a lot different. i tried to google it: nothing.

GMs can scroll their hearts out with no limitations. GMs also do not take any slots when scrolling items.
i.e. +5342 Wizet Invincible Hat
+XXXX everything
5 Slots Left er 7 or whatever it is.

When a GM bans a player, it bans the account, IP address, AND MAC address. Therefore, it is impossible for the same person to connect to the server on the same computer, even if they change their IP. The user must have used another computer. Just to let you know.
